"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2--8oz. bars of cream cheese (for healthier version I use 1/3 less fat)
2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp.. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Spray a 9 x 13 glass baking dish with non-stick (I always use glass to be able to check underside for doneness).
Mix the sugar and cream cheese until smooth.
Add egg yolks, vanilla and lemon juice, mix thoroughly.
Spread on can of crescent roll dough in the bottom of the baking dish--press any seams together to form one solid sheet.
Spread cream cheese mixture on top of crescent roll dough.
Top with second can of crescent roll dough, closing any seams, ensuring the dough is over the top completely, all the way to the edges of the baking dish.
Bake at 350º for 25-30 minutes, until top is golden and bottom no longer looks doughy.

Cool and cut into squares.

Refrigerate leftovers.
