1/3 c. butter
4 c. confectioner's sugar, sifted
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 T. light cream

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter; gradually add about half the sugar, blending well. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Gradually blend in remaining sugar. Add enough cream to make of spreading consistency. Frosts two 8 or 9-inch layers.

For chocolate butter frosting, add two 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled, with the egg yolk and vanilla. Blend well.
