4 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. mace
1 pound butter or margarine, softened
1 pound (4 to 4 1/4 c.) confectioner's sugar, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
6 eggs
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Directions:

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and mace. Set aside.
Cream butter or margarine thoroughly. Gradually add confectioner's sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla and lemon extracts. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Turn into a 10-inch tube pan, which has been well greased and floured. Bake at 325º for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
