3 oz lemon jello
3 oz lime jello
pinch (1/2 tsp) salt
1 1/2 c. hot water (140 degrees- 160 degrees)
3/4 tsp vanilla
4 tbsp creme de cacao (optional)
5 tsp. creme de menthe
1 egg white
1 oz sugar
1/2 pt heavy cream
1 baked 9" pie shell cooled

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve gelatin, sugar, and salt in hot water. Cool
Add vanilla and liquors.
Chill until slightly thickened.
Beat egg until foamy.
gradually add remaining sugar, beating to stiff peaks. Fold in gelatin mixture and whipped cream. Fold into gelatin. Chill in pie shell until firm.

This recipe started as a joke played by Lee Barnes on his kids. Mom (Dot) was in the hospital having a baby and Daddy was in charge of fixing dinner, which included telling his kids they were eating grasshoppers baked in a pie!
