Cranberry Apple Pie Recipe

1 package refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts) or make your own
2 1/2 lbs. apples peeled, cored, and sliced
2 cups fresh cranberries ( I prefer them) or you can you frozen that are thawed and dry
3/4 c. sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter, cut into bits

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Line a 9 inch pie plate with 1 crust. Add sliced apples and sprinkle cranberries over them. Whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle mixture over the cranberries. Dot with butter.
Moisten rim of bottom crust with water and set remaining crust on top. Trim excess dough. Press top and bottom crust edges together., fold under, and crimp or flute the edges. Make several slits in top crust to allow steam to escape.
Put pie on baking sheet to catch any drips, and bake until brown and filling is bubbling.

My husband and family think I make the best apple pie on the planet, but I was bored one day and cranberries were on sale. I started adding them to the pie a few years ago and it is great!
