1/2 lb butter
4 TBSP powdered sugar
2 c flour
1 c dates
3/4 c sugar
3 TBSP water

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325. Blend together butter, powdered sugar and flour. Roll into balls and make thumbprints. Bake 7-8 minutes.
For the filling, cook together dates, sugar and water until well mixed and spreading consistency. Fill baked cookies. Frost with powdered sugar frosting flavored with maple flavoring. Put a walnut on each cookie.
