Ingredients: 1/2 c butter 1/2 c sugar 1/2 c brown sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 eggs, well beaten 1/4 c orange rind, grated 7 oz semi-sweet chocolate, grated 1/4 c walnuts or pecans, chopped 2 c flour 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda 1 c sour milk
Icing: 1/2 c butter, softened 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 c icing sugar, sifted 2 tbsp milk 3 squares semi-sweet chocolate or 1 c chocolate chips

Directions: |
Directions:Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add beaten eggs and beat thoroughly. Blend in chocolate, orange rind and nuts. Add dry sifted ingredients alternately with sour milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. When smoothly blended, pour into a wax paper or parchment paper lined, well-greased 9 X 13 pan or two round cake pans.Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 50 minutes or until pick comes out clean. Cool
Buttercream Icing: Cream room temperature butter with a hand mixer until smooth and fluffy. Gradually beat in icing sugar until fully incorporated. Beat in vanilla extract. Pour in milk and beat for an additional 3-4 minutes. Spread buttercream over cake. Let cool. Melt chocolate squares or chips in a microwave until melted. Drizzle chocolate over cooled cake and spread evenly. |
