¼ c shortening
¾ c brown sugar
½ tsp vanilla
1 beaten egg
1 ¼ c sifted flour
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ c salt
½ tsp cinnamon
½ c sour cream
2/3 c chopped dates
Walnut halves
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add egg. Beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in dates.
Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Top each cookie with a walnut half.
Bake for about 10 min. Makes about 3 dozen.
