1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup light cream
1/2 cup broken walnuts (if desired)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and 1/2 cup cream. Bring to boil. stirring constantly. Add remaining 1/2 cup cream and cook slowly to had ball stage (260º).
Remove from heat, add nuts and vanilla.
Pour into greased 8 inch square pan.
Mark in small squared when partially cool.
Cut when cold.
Wrap caramels in small squares of wax paper and keep in air tight container.
