Sift together and set aside:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda

Blend:
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. water
Beat in 2 eggs

Add:
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Add Chocolate chips to mixture or add on top to marbleize chips as below.
1 -12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375º.

Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture. Stir in 1 cup chopped pecans. Spread in greased 13x9x2 inch pan. Sprinkle on 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips over top of batter. Place in oven for 1-2 min. Remove from oven and run a knife through the batter to marbleize it. Return to oven and cook 18-20 minutes.
