French Onion Soup Recipe

1/4 cup oil
2 lb butter
3 lbs onion and 1 extra cut into rings (salt & pepper)
Salt and Pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
4 tbsp flour
large can of chicken broth
2 cans beef college inn
1/2 cup sherry
1/2 tsp mustard
1/2 cup Romano cheese
2 cups Gruyere cheese
Hard Bread

Put oil and butter in pot
Cook onions slowly over med low flame until onions are brown and soft
Add flour and cook 1 minute
Add sugar, sherry, mustard, and salt and pepper and cook about 2 hours and stir
(Raise to high until boils and lower to med low to simmer)
Add cheese at the end.

When serving bake bread, heat soup, put in crock and broil until golden brown.
