2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
3 tsp garlic powder, divided
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp chicken bouillon, divided
1/2 cup butter flavored shortening
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup buttermilk
3 Tbsp butter or margarine, melted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450º

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, 2 tsp garlic powder, baking soda, and 1/2 tsp bouillon; cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add cheese. Stir in buttermilk just until moistened

Drop by heaping tablespoons onto a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 450º for 10 minutes.

Combine butter with remaining garlic powder and bouillon; brush over biscuits.

Bake at 450º for an additional 4 minutes or until golden brown

Serve Warm
