2 ¾ c. all purpose flour

½ tsp. of salt

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. baking soda

1½ c. sugar

1 c. shortening

2 eggs

2 tbsp. sugar

2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, salt, cream of tartar, and soda together. Blend shortening, sugar, eggs; and sifted dry ingredients and chill dough. In a separate bowl, mix 2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon together. Roll dough into small balls, then roll balls in the mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400º for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned, but still soft. They puff up, then flatten out with crinkled tops.
Yields about 5 dozen.
