1 package Hot Italian Sausage Links
1 can tomato sauce, 16 oz. plus 1 can water
1 can tomato paste, 6 oz. plus 1 can water
1 bell pepper (any color, usually green)
½ onion, grated
red pepper flakes
oregano
1 clove garlic or garlic powder
6 French rolls
½ c. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
Fry sausage links until browned. Drain any oil/fat from pan. Add tomato sauce and tomato paste along with water and stir. Bring to a simmering boil. Add halved bell pepper with seeds removed along with grated onion. Season to taste with garlic salt, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Simmer about 45 minutes until sauce is desired thickness. Discard bell pepper.

Fill each French roll with 1 sausage link and top with extra sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Note: You can use more than 16 ounces of tomato sauce if you want to have a lot of sauce on your sandwiches. If you enjoy cooked bell pepper, you can slice or dice as desired.
