1/2 pound butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º.
Cream butter and shortening together with sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat after each. Sift together the dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk. Add vanilla. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Frost if desired.
