6 medium cucumbers peeled
3 onions thinly sliced
1 green pepper cut in strips (optional)
1 small sweet red pepper cut in strips (optional)
1/4 c coarse pickling salt
2 c Heinz cider vinegar
2 c granulated sugar
2 tsp celery seed
2 tsp mustard seed
1/2 tsp tumeric

Directions:
Directions:
Cut cucumbers into long strips removing most of seeds. Combine in a large bowl with onions, peppers and salt. Soak in ice water for 3 hours adding more ice as it melts. Drain well. In large saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Bring to boil and simmer 5 minutes. Add vegetables and return to boil. Pack into hot sterilized jars, covering vegetables with liquid. Seal.
