5 lb Potatoes (adjust for guests)
5 tbsp. Butter (or more) total of about 3/4 stick
8 oz half and half cream (more or less depending on preference)
1 bulb of Garlic (mince half of the bulb and leave the other half whole cloves)
salt to taste

Directions:
Fill a large stock pot half way with water, add peeled and cubed potatoes, along with the whole garlic cloves (reserve the minced garlic for addition later), add additional water if needed so that the potatoes are covered with water. Bring to boil, boil until fork tender, remove from water.

In a saucepan mix butter and minced garlic, when the two are nicely blended (you will know this when your house starts smelling like an Italian Restaurant), then add half and half and salt. Bring to low boil stirring constantly (milk tends to burn quickly).

Mash potatoes and whole garlic cloves (which you boiled). Once thoroughly mashed, add wet ingredients slowly adding additional half and half until you like the consistency. Finish with a few more pats of butter to create a butter moat.

I often feel like GOD creates a "moat" around my life. It's up to me what liquid is in that moat! I prefer savory, something I can bask in like His love!! This recipe is in honor of my Grandmother and Mom... Both Italian women who would have been honored to share a meal with you.
