2/3 c shortening (not the liquid type)
2/3 c butter (not margarine)
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 12 oz package MILK chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Soften shortening and butter and mix with electric mixer until smooth. Add sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla - continue beating until creamy. Beat in remaining ingrediants (except chocolate chips). The batter should be more on the dry side than sticky, add a bit more flour to get a bit dryer. Stir in chocolate chips.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet, size of rouonded teaspoonfuls. Bake about 9 minutes, take out before they get too dark as they continue to bake on sheet. Remove immediately from cookie sheet to cool.

Make sure the pan is cool before placing another batch on to bake.

I usually double the batch and then use 1 package milk chocolate chips and 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips. Enjoy!
