1 cup water
2 cups raisins

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup nuts

4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins and water for 5 minutes. Cool.

Cream shortening,sugar and eggs and beat well. Add vanilla and cooled raisins. Add nuts(optional).

Add sifted dry ingredients to raisin mixture.

Bake at 400º for 12-15 minutes.
