2 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
4 eggs
2 1/2 cup cake flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda
1 pkg German Sweet Chocolate

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve chocolate in 1/2 cup boiling water. Beat egg whites until stiff. Cream sugar and shortening. Add melted chocolate, then beaten egg yolks. Alternate 3/4 cup of buttermilk with flour. dissolve soda in remaining 1/4 cup of buttermilk. Add to mixture. Add pinch of salt and vanilla. Fold in beaten egg whites last. Bake in 3-10 inch pans at 350º
