1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup molasses
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
2 tsp soda
1 cup boiling water
2 1/2 cup flour
2 eggs (well beaten)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugars and butter. Sift flour and spices. Dissolve soda in hot water. Add the molasses to the butter and sugar, then add the hot water, and soda, and flour. Lastly, add the well beaten eggs. This ginger bread may be baked in muffins or loaf pan. The addition of one half cup of black walnuts gives a pleasing variation to the ginger bread.
