3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup oil (or you can use 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 cup applesauce)
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda dissolved with 2 tbsp hot water
2 cups flour
1 cup boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix eggs with sugar, add molasses, oil and spices. Blend in the water and baking soda mixture. Add flour and boiling water. It will be quite runny. Pour mixture into a greased 9 x 13 pan and bake at 350º F for 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipping cream.
