1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, grated or diced
2-3 cans dark red kidney beans (15 oz. cans)
1 can tomato sauce (28 oz. can)
1-2 cans water
chili powder
red pepper flakes
salt

GARNISH, OPTIONAL:
saltine crackers
cheddar cheese, shredded
onion, diced

Directions:
Directions:
Fry ground beef and onion until meat is cooked. Drain off any oil/fat.

Add meat to a sauce pan. Add in beans (do not drain), tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Reduce heat and add chili powder (about 5-6 TBSP.) until the soup turns very dark red. Add in salt and red pepper flakes to taste. Simmer about 45 minutes to 1 hour, stir occasionally.
