3 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
12 oz. beer
2 Tbs. honey
1 Tbs. butter or margarine

Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Grease an 8" round layer cake pan, set aside. In medium bowl, stir together first 4 ingredients. With wooden spoon, stir in beer and honey and mix just until dry ingredients are moistened. in bowl, turn and knead 1 minute. Spread into prepared pan. Using sharp knife, cut lines 1/2" deep into top of batter. Bake 40 -45 minutes until bread pulls away from side of pan. Unmold onto wire rack; rub top and side of loaf with butter. Cool 10 minutes.
