12 Eggs, separated
1/2 tsp. Salt
2-1/4 C. Sugar, or more to taste
2 C. Bourbon, optional
1/2 C. Rum, optional
1 quart Milk
2 tbsp. Vanilla
3 Pints Whipping Cream
Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together the egg yolks and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Slowly add 1-1/2 cups sugar.
Beat well until thick.
Stir in bourbon, rum, milk, and vanilla. Mix well.
Beat egg whites until foamy.
Slowly add remaining 3/4 cups sugar and beat until stiff.
Whip cream until stiff. Fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture and then fold in whipped cream.
Taste and add sugar to taste.
Sprinkle with nutmeg.
