1 cup of butter, softened
1/4 cup of cornstarch
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Whip butter with an electric mixer until fluffy. Stir in the confectioners sugar, cornstarch, and flour. Beat on low for one minute, then on high for 3 to 4 minutes.
Roll dough out on a floured surface and cut cookie dough into circles or use Christmas cookie cutters if you have some. I use a small glass so that the cookies are smaller and this is a good portion size if you have young grandchildren.
Bake approximately 10 minutes.

To decorate these cookies I put a small mini chocolate chip in the centre, or a small piece of maraschino cherry for colour or some coloured sprinkles. Makes the cookies look festive. My kids and grandkids love them.
