6 cups Oats
½ c. wheat germ or seeds
½ - 1 c. coconut
½ sesame seeds
2 to 3 c. chopped walnuts/ pecans/ or cashews (or any nut you like
2/3 c. almond milk

2/3 c. vegetable oil
1½ tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 c. crasins, mangos or other dry fruits

Directions:
Here is the basic recipe. I make different combinations for the many different preferences. Some favorites are:
TROPICAL: coconut milk, extra coconut, mango and pineapple and brown sugar
FALL: maple syrup, pepitas (pumpkin seeds) pecans and craisins
TYPICAL: honey or (brown sugar and almond milk for vegan friends) dried apples and raisins and walnuts.
Sorry I can’t be more specific….

In large bowl combine oats, some of the sweetener, and the liquids so that the oats are moist. The mixture can be microwaved at this point to let the oats soak up the liquid
Add the rest of the sugars , brown sugar, wheat germ, coconut, sesame seeds.
Add nuts to oat mixture: Stir to coat ingredients well.
Turn into 2 large shallow baking pans using a silpat or parchment paper.
Heat in 325 degree oven 25-35 mins. or until lightly toasted. Add fruits. Stir occasionally while cooling. Crumble into pieces.
Store in tightly sealed container. May be frozen. Makes about 14 cups.

Congradulate yourself if the mixture is lightly browned and crispy. If some is slightly burnt, say this is just the way Connie made it!

Mikel Ledford would eat this morning, noon and night but he often ruined it by adding chocolate chips.
