1 1/2 cup milk
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (105 - 115 degree)
4 cups flour, sifted and divided
2 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening, melted
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk; cool. Dissolve yeast in warm water; add milk and mix well with 2 cups flour. Beat egg whites; add sugar. Combine mixtures and let rise at room temperature until double in size. Add shortening, salt and remaining flour; blend thoroughly. Place dough in a greased container and grease the top of dough. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours. Roll out dough. Cut into strips similar to dumplings and triangular pieces; dip into cooled melted butter and fit together loosely to cover bottom of tube pan. Make 1 or 2 more layers until all dough has been used. At room temperature, let dough rise to the top of container. Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Carefully remove bread from pan by inverting pan; place bread browned side up and serve hot. Each individual plucks piece of bread as it is served.

To freeze: Cover bread with foil and plastic wrap. Before serving, thaw and reheat bread covered in foil at 350-degree for 20 minutes.
