10 slices buttered bread cut in halves or thirds
5 eggs or egg beaters
2 c milk
1½ c grated cheese of your choice
½ lb bacon, sausage or ham (optional)
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
1. Line casserole with bread, saving half for layering.

2. Beat eggs with milk then add salt and pepper.

3. Layer with meat, then cheese (saving some for additional layer).

4. Layer again with buttered bread and top with remaining cheese.

5. Pour egg and milk mixture over the top.

6. Refrigerate overnight. Bake the next morning at 350º for 45 minutes.
