11/2 cups sour cream
1 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup white wine vinegar
2 Tbl. curry powder
1 Tbl. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. sugar
salt and pepper

4 cups cooked rice (about1 1/4 cups raw),cooled
2/3 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 lb. cooked med. shrimp
1 5 and3/4 oz. can pitted black olives,halved
chopped green onion

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 6 ingredients in medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

Combine rice, celery and 1/2 cup onion in large bowl.
Pour 1 cup dressing over and toss. Cover salad and remaining dressing and refrigerate 4
1 hour. (Can be prepared 8 hours ahead).

Pour 3/4 cup remaining dressing over salad. (Reserve remainder for another use). Add shrimp and olives and toss. Sprinkle with green onion and serve,

For the life of me I can't understand why this would have been called "Curry Rice Salad". There is nothing curry about it that I can see? Not even curry powder? But I do vaguely remember eating it. Recipe is dated Feb. 1990-Bon Appetit. Any one else recall?
