6 egg whites
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1 1/2 cups sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until foamy. Add salt and cream of tartar. When peaks form add sugar gradually. Beat until very stiff. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Shape 12 mounds into shells. Bake for 1 hour at 250º. Turn off oven and allow to cool in the oven. If made in advance, store in the fridge. Can be coloured. Fill with fresh fruit or ice cream or a combination.
