2 cups self rising flour
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup buttermilk
Melted butter to brush on top

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425ºF. Sift together flour, sugar, and baking soda. Cut shortening into mixture with 2 knives or fork. Stir in buttermilk. Knead dough and roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut biscuits. Place on ungreased baking sheet, with sides touching. Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush on melted butter as soon as you remove from oven.
