2 cups sifted plain flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 Tbsp shortening
2/3 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt,
Cut in shortening until mixture has the appearance of corn meal.
Add milk, working only enough to combine ingredients.
Turn out on well floured area.
Knead until smooth.
Pat or roll out 1/2 inch thick.
Cut with biscuit cutter.
Place on a lightly greased pan.
Bake at 450 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes.
