1 cup butter
12 oz chocolate chips
2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1/2 tsp salt
4 oz Hershey bar (grated) do NOT leave this out!
2 1/2 cups blended oatmeal
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (your choice)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º
Measure oatmeal and blend in a blender to a fine powder.
Cream the butter and both sugars.
Add eggs and vanilla to butter/sugar mixture.
Mix together flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda, and stir into butter mixture.
Add chocolate chips, Hersey bar, and nuts.
Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (or lightly greased).
Bake for 10 minutes at 375º. Makes 56 cookies

The secret is putting the oatmeal through the blender. It gives the cookies a nutty flavor. And don't leave out the grated Hershey bar! It insures that the chocolate goes all the way through the cookie! Heaven!
