1 whole chicken, cut into pieces.
1 Box Chicken Broth
1 Stick Butter
Salt, Pepper, parsley, Bay Leaf, thyme
2-3 Refrigertaed Ready to Bake Pie Crusts - for dumplings

Directions:
Directions:
In a large Pot, boil the chicken in chicken broth and water ( till the chicken is covered.
Add the seasonings.
Cook the chicken until done. Remover the chicken from the pan and let cool.
Take the chicken pieces off the bone and place back into the liquid in the pot. (NO skin or bones).
Add butter and bring to a slow boil

Cut the pie crusts into strips (1x2").
Gradually, add the pie crust pieces to the chicken mixture one at a time. The dumplings will thicken.
Keep stirring gently to prevent the dumplings from sticking together.
The chicken and dumplins with gradually thicken.

Now, Mabel would have never used pie crust dumplings. She made her dumplings using a biscuit recipe, rolling the dough out and slicing the duplings into pieces. You are welcome to make your own dumplings. I just don't tell anyone my secret.
