4 slices bacon, diced
2 1/2 cups finely chopped mushrooms (1/2 pound)
1 onion, chopped
4 oz. cream cheese
15 slices sandwich bread
1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions:
Directions:
In skillet, cook bacon, mushrooms, and onion for 5 to 8 minutes or until tender but not crisp. Stir in cream cheese until melted and set aside. Trim crusts from bread and flatten slices slightly with a rolling pin. Spread each slice with about 2 Tbsp. of mushroom mixture and roll up (jelly roll fashion). Place seam side down on a baking sheet. Brush rolls with melted butter. Bake in 375º oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut rolls in half and serve warm. Makes 30 appetizers.

Grama used to make these at Christmas. She would make and freeze and when ready to serve, take from the freezer, thaw, brush with melted butter and cook.
