3 C. drippings from turkey or chicken
3 medium onions
1 C. diced celery
1 T. celery salt
1 pan cornbread
3 C. stale bread crumbs
1 tsp. sage
2 eggs
1 stick Butter
1 pint Oysters - optional

Directions:
Directions:
Saute the onions and celery in the butter.
Add the celery salt and sage and optional oysters.
Place mixture into a large bowl and add the stale bread ( crumbled) and the crumbled corn bread.
Add the eggs and combine the mixture (hands work best).
Add the drippings and keep mixing together. If most moisture is needed, add chicken broth.
Either form into individual "pones" or place in a buttered casserole.
Bake for 20 minutes at 350º.

Aunt Cleron gave me this recipe for my first Thanksgiving Family Dinner in 1969. I used way too much sage and the dressing turned green.
