3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups pecan pieces

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla; beat well. Add in dry ingredients; mix well. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Put a heaping tablespoon onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, flatten them slightly with your fingers. Bake in a preheated 325º oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not over bake.

Mom attended a convention in Orlando, Florida many years ago. Magic Johnson was one of the hosts and boasted that the pastry chef made the best chocolate chip cookies in the world. He got the recipe and shared it with all the attendees. They really are some of the best chocolate chip cookies we have ever tasted!
