1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups milk
1 egg
1TBSP butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 box vanilla wafers

Directions:
Directions:
In sauce pan, combine sugar, salt and flour, then gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir over med. heat till mixture boils and thickens. Cook 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
Stir small amount of hot mixture into beaten egg. Stir beaten egg mixture into hot pudding and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla.
Pour over layers of vanilla wafers and sliced bananas in a 9" x 12" dish. Chill or serve warm, topped with whipped cream.
