1/2 stick margarine or butter
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 quart fresh peaches or other fruit, such as blackberries

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º
Bake in a 9x9x21/2 inch dish
Melt margarine in baking dish.
Make a batter of flour, 1/2 of the sugar, and milk.
Pour the batter over the melted margarine.
Sweeten peaches with the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. If canned sweetened peaches are used, the additional sugar may not be needed.
Do Not Stir!!
Bake in oven approximately 30 minutes or until brown around edges.

Aunt Sabra gave me this wonderful recipe when Jim and I got married. It is the best and easiest cobbler recipe! You can use any fruit, peach, blackberry, apple are all delicious. Canned fruit does not need the extra 1/2 cup of sugar unless you want to add it.
