1 1/2 Cakes Compressed Yeast or 1 1/2 pkgs Dry Yeast
1/2 c. Lukewarm Water
4 tbsp. Sugar
1 1/2 c. Milk
2 tsp. Salt
5 c. All-Purpose Flour
1/3 c. Shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water; add milk and shortening. Sift flour, sugar, and salt together and work into liquid. Knead on dough board until dough can be handled easily without sticking to hands. Put in large bowl and grease top and bottom. Let rise until double in size, then mash dough down and let rise again until double in size. Knead down well, then make into rolls. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes about 20
