3 cups plain flour
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening
2 sticks margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat over to 300 degrees. Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar. Mix well. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour and other dry ingredients while alternating with milk. Add vanilla last. Pour into greased bunt pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes for a very moist cake. Our family prefers for the cake to be soft on top and not a dark brown crust. If you prefer it to be brown just cook as desired.
