1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp ginger
6 cups flour
1 lb mixed dried fruit
1 10 oz box of currants
1 1/2 cups raisins
1 1/2 cups white raisins
1 1/2 cups dried cherries
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts

Glaze:
1/2 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup confectioners sugar

Directions:
Grind fruit and nuts together. Place in a large bowl, coat with 4 cups of the flour, and set aside. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg, sour cream, honey, molasses, vanilla, and lemon juice and mix well. Stir in soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and the remaining 2 cups of flour. Mix until smooth. Pour over the flour, fruit, and nut mixture. Mix by hand until blended. Refrigerate over night. Roll out dough 1/4" thick and cut into oblongs approximately 2 1/2" by 1 1/2". Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes. Brush on glaze with pastry brush while cookies are still warm.

Glaze: Boil water and sugar until thread appears while dripping from spoon. Remove from heat, add confectioners sugar, and stir until it dissolves.
