2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup unsifted flour
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp melted shortening
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs. Add remaining ingredients and mix till smooth. Heat crisco oil for deep fat frying till piece of bread is golden in short time (375º). Heat rosette iron in hot oil at same time. When correct temperature is reached, remove iron from hot oil, shake off excess, dip in batter, just barely to top of iron and put back in oil. Cook till golden. Serve as is or dusted with white or powdered sugar. (These can be frozen!)
