1 1/2 lbs of short ribs - lean
1 1/2 lbs spare ribs
salt
3-4 whole pepper
1-2 bay leaves
3-4 whole allspice
onion sliced
water

Directions:
Directions:
Cover meat with lots of water. Add all ingredients. Simmer until meat is tender and water in reduced to half. Strain broth, cool, skim off fat. Can be made the day ahead, makes it easier to remove fat.

Serve by dipping Swedish Rye or white bread into warm broth.
