Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
3 tablespoons shortening
1 1\2 cups hot water

Directions:
Mix flour, salt, baking powder and shortening all together. Add water and mix into a dough. Cover with a towel and let "sleep" for about 5 min. Make dough into small flat balls. Roll out into circles (you may have to sprinkle rolling surface with flour if dough is stinky.) Cook in a non stick pan or pancake griddle. Cook one side then flip and cook the other side.

Helpful hint ... tortillas have a better chance at being round if your small flat balls are round.

This recipe makes about 18-20 tortillas. I frequently cut it in half for a smaller dough.
