Ingredients: 2 lbs ground chuck 5 lbs russet potatoes - peeled and sliced 1 large onion - chopped 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 stick butter melted 1/4 cup half and half 1/2 tsp garlic powder salt and pepper to taste 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional) 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese

Directions:Brown the meat and onion; drain Peel potatoes and keep in water to keep from turning brown then drain water. Mix soup, milk, butter, garlic, red pepper flakes and salt and pepper. Add meat and soup mixture together. Pour into a deep 13 x 9 casserole dish covered. Bake 350 degrees about 1 1/2 hour or until potatoes are tender. Remove casserole and add cheese return to oven for additional 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese melts. Do not cover. Enjoy! |

Notes: Kay Hutchinson my sister-in-law gave me this recipe many, many years ago. However, I have added a few more ingredients. This recipe is a real comfort food. I usually fix a vegetable and some good ole cornbread. It's a great casserole to fix for large groups of company. Kay and myself use to fix this to feed all of our family when we would all get together. All of our children loved it as well as the adults. Enjoy!!!!
