1 Qt whole milk
2 cups sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 salt
4 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 qt half&half
Rock salt
Ice cubes

Directions:
Directions:
Scald the milk, stirring constantly. Set aside. Mix flour, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add 1 cup of the hot milk to form a thin paste. Stir paste into remaining hot milk, stirring constantly. Cook over low heat until mixture is thick and comes to a boil, about 15 minutes. Stir often. Gradually add beaten eggs, stirring as eggs are drizzled into milk mixture. Cook on low heat for 2 minutes. Stirring the whole time. Do not overlook or it will curdle (if it does put in blender to smooth) Refrigerate overnight or 4-6 hours. Add vanilla and half&half right before placing in ice cream maker. Mix according to machine directions.
