6 slices bread, day-old, cut into 1/2 inch cubes (about 7 cups)
1 cup raisons
1 cup water, hot
1 cup brown sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups milk, warm
1⁄2 cup sugar
1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
1⁄8 teaspoon salt


Sauce:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup light-colored corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup bourbon or Rum

Directions:
Directions:
Place bread in greased 2-qt. baking dish.
Sprinkle raisins over top of the bread.
Combine water and brown sugar; pour over bread.
Combine remaining ingredients; pour over bread.
Bake at 350F for 50-60 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Serve warm or cold.

To prepare sauce, combine 1/2 cup sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a simmer; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; stir in 1/4 cup bourbon.
Serve each bread pudding piece warm with about 1 tablespoon sauce.
