Easy Cherry Coffeecake Recipe

1 Can Cherry Pie Filling
16 Ounce Sour Cream
1Yellow or White Box Cake Mix
1 Egg
1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil
1 TSP Almond Extract

For White Icing
3 cups White Powdered Sugar
2-3 TBLS Milk
Splash of Vanilla

OPTIONAL
Use Chocolate box cake mix instead of yellow

If using Chocolate, prepare the Chocolate Icing with:
1 Cup White Sugar
5 TBLS butter
1/3 Cup Milk
6 Oz Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Directions:

Mix with spoon or rubber spatula into the dry cake mix:
1 Egg
1/3 C Oil
16 ounce Sour Cream

Batter will be thick!. Spread it evenly into a greased 9 x 13 pan
Using a teaspoon, evenly distribute cherry pie filling over the top of the
batter. Do not mix into the batter.

Using a table knife, draw swirls through the batter, all the way to the bottom of the pan

Bake in preheated oven at 350' for 35 minutes.
The batter will just begin to pull away from the pan edges, and no longer jiggle in the middle when it is done.
Let cool at least 1 hour before icing

White Icing:
Mix the sugar, vanilla and milk together until smooth
Put into Ziploc bag, cut off a small corner tip
Pipe icing onto the top of the cake

Chocolate Icing
In thick saucepan, melt 5 TBLS butter, 1/3 Cup milk and 1 Cup sugar.
Remove from heat, then add Chocolate Chips
Stir to melt
Pour hot icing over cake, and spread evenly while still hot
Chocolate Icing will harden somewhat when cooled - similar to fudge
